Regarding Guéhi to Kenan Yildiz – Who Could Be Transferring during the January Transfer Window?

The winter recruitment period is typically a period of feverish rumour and possible big-money moves. Numerous notable players are being linked with moves away from their present teams. We examine a selection of the major names that are poised to be on the move this month.

A. Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' inability to reach the AFCON, this has kept the forward in contention, indications are a major transfer is imminent. This Bournemouth attacker possesses a contract with a substantial release clause applicable for a brief window in early January. Recent reports indicate the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his signature. Former interested parties such as Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have moved on to other options, potentially opening the door for teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to attempt a late move.

M. Guéhi

The English centre-back has continued to impress for Palace despite a summer transfer to Anfield collapsing. As his deal set to expire in the close season, this represents the club's last opportunity to secure a transfer fee for their captain. Numerous top sides, such as Manchester City and several European giants including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, reportedly be interested. Yet, a January exit is considered difficult, particularly given the manager's dependence on the player.

B. Johnson

This Welsh winger has found first-team minutes hard to come by at Tottenham this campaign. Despite finishing as the side's leading goalscorer the previous campaign, he has started just a handful of Premier League games. Reports suggest the North London club is willing to consider a transfer for the correct price, thought to be in the region of forty million pounds. Bournemouth appear to be at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also showing an inquiry.

Tottenham rate the Welsh international at approximately £40m.

Rúben Neves

This Portuguese midfielder could be poised for a comeback to the Premier League following a period in the Saudi Pro League. Now only twenty-eight, and with his contract ending in the summer of 2026, he is a possible bargain. Teams such as Liverpool and Manchester United have been connected to the former Wolves man. Additionally, there are suggestions from Spain that he would be willing to take a pay cut for a switch to the Spanish giants.

M. ter Stegen

The experienced German shot-stopper is now as third-choice at Barça following the coach Flick. Having fallen out of favour and had an operation, a January exit seems increasingly likely. Villa were once mentioned as a possible destination, but that move now appears off. Instead, clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are reportedly showing interest in the 33-year-old.

Ivan Toney

This prolific England striker has continued scoring regularly in Saudi Arabia. Coming back to the Premier League could enhance his fading hopes of making the national World Cup. However, arranging a transfer poses major challenges. Al-Ahli are reluctant to part with him, and his alleged enormous weekly wages make any agreement complicated. Tottenham, Manchester United, and Everton are all linked as admirers.

The striker was instrumental as Al-Ahli to a win in the Saudi Super Cup showpiece.

Conor Gallagher

This energetic English midfielder drew widespread interest in the summer but stayed at Atlético Madrid. Having limited starts in La Liga this term, he may be eager to secure more playing time ahead of the tournament. Manchester United are strongly linked, and a move back to Selhurst Park, a club he shone on loan, is also a possibility, although wage constraints might be a problem.

Harvey Elliott

Despite excelling and winning the best player award at the U21 Euros last summer, this young midfielder has found it tough for minutes during his loan spell at Aston Villa. Unai Emery has stated the temporary transfer won't become permanent. Because of FIFA regulations about playing for multiple teams in a season, a return to his parent club before next season seems to be the sole viable solution.

Kenan Yildiz

The exciting Turkey forward has been in excellent form for the Italian giants this season. With his current contract nearing its end, many English sides – including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham – are monitoring the developments. Juventus are desperate to tie down the 20-year-old to a lengthy contract but are in a race to retain one of the continent's brightest young talents.

K. Smit

The highly-touted Netherlands midfielder has drawn parallels to Kevin De Bruyne for his playing style. Following impressing at the U19 Euros, Smit has become a regular in the AZ side. This teenager is widely tipped to make a big-money move in January. Newcastle reportedly are leading the chase, but could face strong competition from Real Madrid for a deal priced at around £22 million.
